Eric Sivin, founding partner of Sivin Tobin Associates, is an expert in the field of legal recruiting. Throughout his three decades-long search career, Mr. Sivin has worked in virtually every aspect of business-related law. He was instrumental in effecting one of the first large firm mergers in New York, placed literally hundreds of associates throughout the 1980s, and has since specialized in mergers, senior partner, and practice group placement. He is responsible for bringing leading practitioners, firms and groups to a wide variety of clients, ranging from small local boutiques to top tier national and international law firms. Prior to founding Sivin Tobin in 1994, Mr. Sivin started up and led the legal recruiting divisions of two top New York legal search firms.

Mr. Sivin is Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants (NALSC). He has served on many panels concerning recruiting, and he is an expert contributor to the recently published book Inside the Minds: The Art & Science of Legal Recruiting.

Mr. Sivin is a graduate of Brandeis University and NYU School of Law. He won NYU's Moot Court Competition and was a semi-finalist in the National Moot Court Competition. Before embarking on his legal search career in 1978, he taught college level argumentation and debate, then practiced as a commercial litigator at Kronish Lieb.
